Terms & Conditions

The words “us” and “we” will refer to Caister Kennels. The words "customer and "customers" refer to the dog owner Pets’ Health and Vaccines · Dogs cannot be accepted without a current vaccination certificate for DHLPPCv (a multi vaccine protecting your dog from catching or passing on several serious or fatal diseases) AND Kennel cough vaccination, which is administered separately. Please ask your vet. · · Cats cannot be accepted without a current vaccination certificate FVRCPC (a multi vaccine protecting your cat from catching · or passing on several serious or fatal diseases) AND Leukaemia vaccination, which is administered separately. · · Some vaccinations require a course, which may take up to 6 weeks so please allow enough time for this. All vaccines must · be given at least 14 days prior to boarding - please check with your Vet. · · Do not bring a pet to the kennels carrying a live vaccine as this could infect the other animals. · · In certain instances it is possible to look after a pet that is in recovery from a recent illness or operation. Please call us first · to establish care that might be needed and any quarantine necessary. · · All medication, apart from injections, can be administered just as at home and so long as a pet will not usually bite if it has · to · be hand fed with tablets. Please clearly label all medication with your name, that of the pet/s’ and the correct dosage. · · Please note on the booking form any limps/injuries/skin complaints/ear or eye problems/recent illness/allergies/sensitivity to any pet products inc flea sprays or anything else which we should expect and how we should treat it · · Long term boarders will require flea and worm treatments and in some cases grooming. Please discuss your pets needs at · the time of booking. There is a charge for these services and we do not have a groomer on site. · · Whilst every care will be given to the animal/s, they are boarded entirely at the owners risk. Where necessary, your usual veterinary surgeon will be called if an animal becomes ill, and the owner is liable for any veterinary fees for existing conditions · and also where kennel staff have not been negligent (see insurance below). In matters of urgency, we will use Haven Vets · for proximity and contact your own vets for the pet’s history. · Pets’ Belongings · Please bring only indestructible toys to prevent choking. · · We cannot accept any liability for spoiled toys or bedding. Soiled bedding may not be laundered. · · We will use our own leads for security purposes, but pets need to arrive with a well-fitted collar and name tag. · About Payment and Prices A non-refundable deposit of £20 per week per kennel or £10 per week per cat pen is required within 10 days of booking to “provisionally” hold your kennel/pen. A “provisional” booking will be held up to 14 days prior to arrival date. Full payment/ balance payments due must be paid at least 14 days prior to arrival date for ALL dates booked. Cancellations must be made in writing 14 days prior to arrival date. We recommend all cancellation correspondence is sent with a proof of posting (a free service offered at the post office counter). Payment will still be required for dates changed at late notice or where a pet is dropped off later or picked up earlier than expected. This is unfortunately due to several no-shows and “ghost bookings” which incur lost revenue to us and disappointment to other customers who could not book at the time when we were full. Please make cheques payable to “Caister Kennels” and write your name, address and bankcard number on the reverse. Cash is accepted at the kennels but by prior appointment only. Payment includes kennel use, heating, foods of certain brands (please enquire), treats, bedding, toys and exercise. A collection service is available at extra cost and extra necessary trips will also be at additional cost of £10 per hour per person (kept to a minimum), plus third party’s own fees. Prices can change without prior notice, although signed contract prices will remain. We reserve the right to recover any unpaid monies. Damages Sometimes pets cause damage to our kennels property or fittings, we understand this, however we have introduced a limit of £10, the customer will be liable to pay the cost to repair the damage costing above £10. About us Caister Kennels is licensed by Great Yarmouth Borough Council Environmental Health Department who check us regularly to ensure we meet required standards and advise us of any changes that need to be made. · We have full liability insurance. This does not cover your pet for any self-harm, ill health or diseases where Caister · Kennels have not been negligent and have taken every effort to prevent such, following customer and Environmental · Health · guidelines. · · An animal will be re-homed where not collected within 7 days of departure date stated, where no communication from the owner is received and all efforts to contact the owner fail. · · We reserve the right not to accept any animal that may seem to put staff at risk from personal injury. The owner will be responsible for paying any financial loss suffered by the staff at Caister Kennels from personal injuries caused by their · pets, including loss of salary and/or medical costs. It may be necessary for us to advise the Police where a dog has been particularly vicious when unprovoked. · About Opening Hours For security to our home we are not open to the general public all day, we operate on an “appointment only” system for all of our services i.e. Viewings, dropping off/collecting of pets or trips for payment. Charges may change according to part days of stay. Please keep your pet safely in the car until you see a member of staff and remove them only on a lead - the area has abundant wildlife, cats and free-range chickens and is open to the countryside to the front of our property. Pets do not become our responsibility until they are shut inside the main kennel block or behind our double gates leading to walk areas. Care of Your Pet We will take every effort to take good care of your pet. This includes no less than two daily walks or exercise times with interactive play, feeding the same times they are used to with exact foods that you suggest or provide. Dogs will be brushed and towel dried when wet but not fully groomed. Environmental Health guidelines operate at all times. Please provide us with as much detail as possible about your pet. Owners will need to supply their own food.
